Tired Monkey - Jessica
I'm too tired to extensively commentate (see, that's not even a word), because Joe took 20 minutes to write his section. I gotta get up in the morning, poop! Some of us work! Now Joe is saying I'm jerky, but I can't help that he types slowly. I even tried to make him use the Mavis Beacon typing tutor program, but he refused to practice, despite all the "fun" games. I still have nostalgic memories about the car racing game from the earlier Mavis Beacons. Sometimes, I would just type everything wrong to get bugs splattered all over my windshield. Ah, childhood.
Surf's Up - Joe
Well, this is a late parody of the now defunct tv show "John from Cincinnati." Did I like the show? Did I mourn the loss of it? Not really, I just had a passing intrigue about the concept of a surf inspired show with supernatural trappings. I watched an episode and I found it to be mildly entertaining. It kind of fell into that "Six Feet Under" meets "Lost" territory, meaning it had dark family drama mixed with atmospheric weirdness that cryptically unfolded, very slowly. Oh yeah, it was created by the guy who did "Deadwood" which means it was filled with unsavory /characters who spouted foul language all the time. I asked myself, do people really swear that much in real life? I'm not sure even the most lowbrow of people inserts that many f-bombs into normal conversation. I surprisingly only recounted hearing one uttering of "c***sucker" in the pilot episode.
I thought the beach and surf setting would be an interesting one to put the monkeys in. Plus I had the chance to draw TJ levitating, which was cool. The Baron is always put in an uncomfortable situation with TJ. Poor Baron.
